Officials had checked everyone in at the tent and had distributed the wristbands, Green Lantern rings, and the cards with the Green Lantern oath. At about 10:45, they led us through the back behind Scream and through the park backlot. From there, we entered the park at Colossus County Fair where it was gated off from the regular park-goers. Greeting our eyes, we were taken in front of the curtain-drawn DC Universe for the unveiling.
The festivities in the ceremony (watch here) included the usual intro by park president, Bonnie Rabjohn, and a special appearance by Green Lantern writer and Chief Creative Officer for DC, Geoff Johns. After the Green Lantern character kicked off the ride, the mob of anxious riders swarmed the entrance.
To let the line clear, we grabbed a bite to eat at the new Teen Titans Tower Pizza which was free on Magic Mountain (thanks Six Flags)! After doing so, we finally proceeded to the queue, which had cleared pretty well.
I finally was able to dispose of my soda cup in the station, before I boarded. I was a single rider, so I was hoping that maybe the park would install a service like on Riddler's Revenge and others. The lift up to the peak of the coaster was extraordinary, providing a different perspective of the surrounding park. The height is decieving from the ground, but climbing up the cable, it looks pretty insane.
Despite this, the coaster sure packs a punch in thrill for it's size, and offers the most fun experience hitting the level of X2 in greatness. Numerous fans have asked of lockers or storage cubbies specifically for the ride, but Green Lantern has nothing. The Batman locker station is very close, so we recommend using that if absolutey necessary. To wrap things up, Green Lantern is a mind-blowing thrill coaster set in an incredible themed area. This will be the coaster of the summer everyone.
